The Department of Mathematics has 25 tenure system faculty, 18 professional faculty, 50-60 graduate students, and about 200. Our graduate degree offerings include a Ph.D. in Mathematics and M.S. degrees, as well as Math Education options. Undergraduate offerings include B.A. and B.S. degrees in Mathematics, with or without teacher certification. Additional information about the department is available at math.unt.edu.
UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.
Position Overview
The Department of Mathematics at the University of North Texas invites applications to fill several 3-year Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning in Fall 2025. The teaching commitment is two courses in the first year, and three courses in the second and third year. Successful candidates will be paired with faculty mentors with whom they have compatible research interests.
We anticipate several Visiting Assistant Professor opening in the Fall of 2025. As openings arise, we will actively source candidates from this applicant pool.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics or expect to complete their Ph.D. by August 2025.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to outstanding applicants with previous academic research experience and college teaching experience.
