As a Software Engineer III, you'll spend your days translating requirements into solutions, writing code, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing us with the insights necessary to think beyond the status quo.

Sam's Club is our membership warehouse club, a business model that provides our members with high-quality products at prices that are unrivaled by traditional retail. Sam's Club provides a carefully curated assortment of items, as well as developing and leading technologies and services such as Scan & Go, Club Pickup, and home delivery service in select markets. Sam's Club also provides travel, auto purchasing, pharmacy, optical, hearing aid centers, tire and battery centers, and a portfolio of business operations support services.

What you'll do:

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications using languages and technologies such as Java, Python, and JavaScript
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements, and ensure that software solutions meet the needs of our customers and associates
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that adheres to Walmart's coding standards and best practices
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues, and collaborate with QA teams to ensure that software is thoroughly tested and meets quality standards
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve software solutions and processes
• Adhere to Walmart's code of conduct and software development standards, and ensure that all software development activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

What you'll bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on web or mobile applications
• Strong development experience in an OO language (Java, python, C++, C#, etc.)
• Experience with cloud application development including scalable, data driven, and message-oriented architecture.
• Experience designing scalable microservices.
• Experience designing loosely coupled services using asynchronous message processing including Kafka.
• Experience working on cloud scale massive relational and No-SQL databases.
• Experience with code repositories and version control practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and best practices. Automated deployment experience is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders
