Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Perform underwriting support activities associated with information gathering and rating of new business, renewals, binders, and mid-term changes, as well as electronic file preparation on behalf of the Underwriter.
  • Conduct underwriting support activities for General Liability, Auto, Workers Compensation, Excess an Excess Workers Compensation.
  • Multi-line new business submissions, renewal submissions and endorsements processing including rating, policy construction and assembly in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Gathering and analyze underwriting information including experience reports, final audits, loss control reports, financial reports, loss runs, MVRs, and FEINs.

  • Communicate with brokers to request and follow up on required documentation in support of policy construction.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and lead weekly synchronization meetings with Underwriters to prioritize work and resolve challenges when servicing policies.
  • Flexibility to support Underwriters located in different regions within the U.S. with different time zones.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate work with Business Process Outsourcing partners to perform underwriting support activities.
  • Conduct quality review and provide feedback to Business Process Outsourcing.
  • Review and analyze incoming transactions and related information for completeness accuracy and quality.
  • Regularly reviews and adheres to department processing guidelines and procedures to ensure accuracy including recommended changes/enhancements.
  • Maintain all correspondence activity with internal and external customers including daily diaries on pending transactions.
  • Compliance with ODEN state rules and regulations relative to cancellations and reinstatements.
  • Ability to manage internal report updates based on manager discretion.
  • Participates in peer review and quality control for team(s) as needed.
  • Special projects, including participation in Home Office projects, as needed.

Qualifications, Education & Experience:
  • Experience supporting multi-line national accounts with high touch service.
  • Preferred experience with loss-sensitive accounts.
  • Bachelor's degree or High School degree with relevant work experience required.
  • Proficient in MS Office, with exceptional skills in Microsoft Excel.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong desk management, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to developing rapport with business partners, underwriters, agents and co-workers by phone, email or in person.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and requests to complete work within required time constraints with a high volume of work.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and mathematical aptitude.
  • Proficiency in using online reference manuals and multiple electronic systems.
  • The ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple deadlines with ease.
  • Self-starter that is energized by independent learning and research.
  • Review and provide feedback on quality review of other team members to management based on required checklist.

For NYC Only: The base salary range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
