Blue Cross of Idaho is looking for an Underwriting Analyst who will evaluate risk to determine acceptability of business. This role determine premiums, terms, and conditions based on established rules, rates, and guidelines. In this role, Analysts will classify, rate, and approve applicants in order to protect the organization from excessive risk and ensure the organization's profitability and membership.
To be considered for this opportunity, you have the following:
Experience:
Underwriting Analyst Level II:
- 3 years medical underwriting & insurance industry experience
- 5 years medical underwriting & insurance industry experience
Here's what your day may look like:
- Monitors guidelines for determining acceptance or denial of an applicant.
- Performs rate calculations and determine an applicant's premium rate based on projected risk-level using actuarial models.
- Supports the Underwriting and Sales teams by processing new and renewing business.
- Performs risk evaluations and rating activities for commercial accounts.
- Evaluates and review financial solvency of commercial accounts and recommends a mitigation strategy.
- Performs duties in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
