In order to ensure your application is complete, you must complete the following:The Ohio State University Medical Center is committed to enhancing the quality of care provided to patients.The Therapeutic Recreation program is a part of the overall Dodd Rehabilitation program on all medical services.The Therapeutic Recreation staff is expected to evaluate/screen patients, establish treatment goals, implement treatment, and complete patient teaching/discharge planning.The Therapeutic Recreation staff also provides equipment for diversional activities to be carried out by volunteers, or upon the request of a patient or his/her family caregivers.Updating program offerings via treatment techniques, groups, or co-treatments is an ongoing process.Activities used in treatment are generated to facilitate with patient's transition to home/community.
The Therapeutic Recreation Specialist provides patient treatment via recreational modalities, education material to maximize patient post discharge planning.The Therapeutic Recreation Specialist is expected to be the contact for the community link and be a liaison for patient /staff/consumers of Rehabilitation Services.The Therapeutic Recreation staff is also to be a resource for all areas of the continuum and be able to provide resources and information to anyone in the OSU continuum.
Minimum Qualifications
Current Ohio Driver's License.
A Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation from an accredited school.Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialistthrough the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).One year experience as a CTRS is preferred.
Maintains an active CTRS status and Ohio Driver's license.Demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions.
