The Heritage Group Accelerator is looking for a motivated student, who is ready for hands-on experience in working directly with early staged companies and founders. This candidate will be assisting the Accelerator team with day-to-day operations including the sourcing, screening, and selection of cohort companies pre-program, with the eventual support of those companies in-program. This is an exciting opportunity for students who are interested in Business, Operations, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, and Graphic Design to create action plans, social media campaigns, and sales strategies that will help the startups reach their growth initiatives. We are looking for students that are able to commit to a full-time summer internship (in-person) and part-time fall internship (in-person) until the end of October.

Essential Functions

  • During the program, assist the Accelerator Team with the planning and execution of on-site training workshops, learning sessions, networking, and social events.
  • Assist startups with daily operational needs and ensure seamless communication with the Accelerator Team.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes of Accelerator team and program and take initiative to make improvements.
  • Act as a liaison between startup founders and their Heritage Group internal mentors.
  • Assist in go-to-market strategy brainstorming sessions, providing founders with research when requested.
  • Assist with market research, customer discovery, and competitive landscaping efforts of startups.
  • Assist Operations Manager with tasks (as needed).
  • Design, write, and produce engaging social content, marketing collateral, and videos.
  • Analyze analytics to gauge the success of digital campaigns.
  • Proven social media expertise; mastery of LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram to drive engagement with social accounts and the website.
Education Qualifications
  • Required High School or Equivalent
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree : Current Junior or Senior majoring in business. hospitality, operations, events, sales, marketing, graphic design, communications, or other related fields.
Experience Qualifications
  • Prior business development and communications experience preferred. Preferred
  • Knowledge in writing client-specific proposals and estimates would be helpful. Preferred
  • Have some experience with CRM tool requirements. Preferred
  • Writing samples, these will be required during the interview stage. Required
  • Prior marketing or communications experience.
  • Video editing, graphic design, and social media strategy.
Skills and Abilities
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Creative thinker and problem-solver.
  • Organized with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Aptitude with various social media platforms as well as the data tracking tools associated with them.
  • Adobe Creative suite and Canva mastery preferred.
  • Collaborative and conscientious individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
  • Will require a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lb.
  • Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
  • Must have the ability to lift and carry small parcels, packages and other items and walk short distances.

Internships at The Heritage Group

The Heritage Group Internship Program provides hands-on, paid experiences in a corporate function or within one of our many operating companies. Interns can expect to network with other students and professionals, gain useful skills, receive mentoring, and make their own contributions to the organization. Additionally, interns can participate in our weekly hosted events focused on professional development, team building, and community service.

Intern pay is non-negotiable and is calculated based on current academic class standing $17/hour (Freshman) - $20/hour (Senior), etc.
