TEST ENGINEER II

Purpose and Scope:

The Test Engineer will report to the Test Engineering Supervisor and is responsible for the testing and documentation of new products as well as supporting manufacturing. This role will collaborate with sales, design engineering, manufacturing, and the customer to provide a solution to the customers' design challenges.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Perform engineering analysis and apply problem-solving methods to support new product development and/or sustaining production of existing designs.
  • Review designs for conformance to test procedures and plans
  • Review test data and write test reports in support of new programs to demonstrate compliance to customer specifications.
  • Interact with customers to clarify design intent and technical requirements.
  • Maintain accurate, orderly project records, including design and test data, customer specifications, directives, etc.
  • Provide directions and assist in the qualification test programs.
Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related technical field and two years of full-time engineering experience OR 6 years of applicable experience as follows:
    • Experience with designing and operating data acquisition and automation software.
    • Experience with reading hydraulic schematics and implementing hydraulic test setups.
    • Experience troubleshooting setups and data acquisition issues.
    • Experience with designing development test protocols and setups based on engineering requirements.
    • Experience with creating and supporting capital expenditure requests.
    • Experience working on continual improvement projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic MS Office skills.
  • Self-starter who demonstrates a sense of urgency in meeting customer expectations and delivering results.
  • Attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this position.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • Familiarity with metal forming and manufacturing methods and processes.
  • Mechanical aptitude displayed through personal hobbies/projects.
  • LabVIEW experience.
  • Excel VBA or MatLab experience.
  • Excellent Creo/Solidworks skills.
ITAR Requirement: Due to ITAR regulations, this position requires that the employee must be a U.S. Citizen.

Quality Requirement: Employees will participate in understanding, implementing and maintaining the Company Quality Policy in accordance with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 requirements.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: The employee will be required to move throughout the building to collect, handle and process production and prototype parts.
