Position Summary:

They Systems Engineer is responsible for coordinating with internal staff and vendors to design, develop, and manage systems, hardware and software infrastructure to meet standards for performance, continuity, capacity, availability, and security including physical and virtual servers, storage, backup and recovery, and directory services.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage storage area networks including provisioning and presenting storage, creating fiber channel zones, and managing the replication of volumes between sites.
  • Manage virtual server environment including creating and managing virtual servers, creating and maintaining recovery plans, managing host hardware, managing physical and virtual resources.
  • Manage Windows Servers and Active Directory including creating and managing group policies, creating and maintaining user accounts and groups, building and manage SQL Servers and SQL Server clusters, building and managing web servers and load-balanced, web server pools.
  • Serve the technical resource to design, install, and configure applications and system infrastructure to support enterprise projects.
  • Assess systems and technology, analyze system performance analysis, plan system integration, develop specifications, and test and evaluate solutions.
  • Ensure Vulnerability management protocol is followed and all equipment is secured.
  • Develop and maintain standards, procedures and documentation for all systems and infrastructure
  • Reviews and develops plans for technology and monitors performance to ensure operating effectiveness in delivering information with budgetary constraints.
  • Assist in the planning and development of new technology to improve performance and productivity, reduce IT costs and improve profitability.
  • Design, implement and maintain systems access security, software and methodology and data integrity consistent with the security and DLP policies.
  • Develops and implements information security standard and procedures for systems, applications, and third-party systems and vendors
  • Design, implement, and support system operations across multiple data centers on 365x7x24 basis
  • Provide Tier 3 support and escalation and act as a subject matter expert for servers, storage and operating systems.
  • Support and execute incident, problem and change management processes according to established policies and procedures.
  • Monitor system capacity and performance, performs preventative maintenance, and develop plans for long-term and short-term computing needs
  • Solve complex problem situations and participate in the identification of opportunities for improvement to processes, procedures, or tools.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as required for the growth, advancement of Everwise.

Knowledge/Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems, Apple Operating Systems, Virtualization Solutions, Backup/Recovery, and NAS/SAN systems
  • Working knowledge of networking and firewalls
  • Data entry skills, mathematical and logical aptitude and general interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are absolutely necessary.
  • Works with little supervision with respect to scheduling and assignments of tasks with results and progress occasionally reviewed.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be available for non-business hours support and after-hours work, including on-call rotation when necessary.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with Virtualization systems
  • 2+ years of experience with NAS/SAN systems, preferably Dell
  • 4+ years of experience in managing Windows Server, Active Directory & Azure
  • Prefer experience with one or more of the following. SIEM products, Information Security, SCCM, Office 365, Enterprise Mobility Suite, SCOM, Solarwinds.
  • Microsoft Certification preferred.
