St. Norbert College, a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college is seeking part-time (remote or in-person) Strategic Research Institute Interviewers. A laptop and phone are provided.
Regular shifts are Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM or 4:30 PM - 9:30 PM, remotely or on campus. Weekend hours are available and usually optional, though they may be required 2-4 weekends per year. Hours are based on project needs and are typically heavier from June through February. In general, 16 - 20 hours per week are expected. The position is not expected to travel.
If working remotely, must have a dedicated, quiet working space that is free of distractions to conduct phone calls. A high-speed internet connection and mobile phone reception are also needed.
Specific responsibilities include:
Conducts phone interviews to collect information for various research projects. Contacts and asks respondents questions over the telephone using standardized survey questions.
Meets call dialing quality and quantity goals. Maintains strict confidentiality of the information gathered.
Enters data from interviews into the collection software accurately.
Performs general and administrative office functions.
Performs additional duties as assigned and attends College-required training. Interviewers are also required to attend a standing meeting once per week that is held virtually.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience with interviewing either in person or over the phone is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse campus environment, or commitment to do so as an employee of St. Norbert College.
Ability to work independently and efficiently.
Skilled at organizing projects and seeing them through to completion.
Ability to clearly read from a script with a professional telephone manner.
Strong interpersonal skills, including listening, rapport building, and conflict resolution.
Ability to enter data quickly and accurately into an online system.
Ability to follow up with survey participants to obtain missing data or clarify existing data.
Knowledge of computer programs, especially Google Suite, and the ability to learn upgrades and new programs as needed.
Ability to sit and type for the majority of a shift.
