Job Details:
SUMMARY: Facilitate effective communication between two parties that do not speak the same language by converting one spoken language to another. Interpreting services include but are not limited to Employment, Training & Orientation, Meetings, Human Resources, Health Services, and other operational activities as assigned. This position is held to a strict code of confidentiality. The interpreter must be willing to work in all environments of the facility.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High school degree or equivalent is preferred but not required
Experience: One year of interpreter experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Must be able to pass the Interpreter Assessment with an average total score of 90% or higher. Current Team Members already certified under Tyson interpreter program or other language certification acquired through an academic organization will be preferred first
Communication Skills: Must have strong verbal communication skills in their dominant language and the English language. Must agree to sign a confidentiality agreement.
Computer Skills: Basic computer and typing skills preferred.
Special Skills: Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision, while at the same time be a member of team to coordinate and provide support as needed. Must be able to demonstrate strong organizational, decision making, and follow-up skills.
The Interpreter is expected to use dictionaries and glossaries for reference to communicate a clear and concise message
Travel: Must have a valid driver's license to attend outside medical appointments.
