The Role
Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.
The candidate selected for this position will serve as a software test engineer on a team focused on testing shipboard software. Candidates for this software test engineer role should be knowledgeable about the software development lifecycle and have an in-depth understanding of the software test lifecycle and software quality processes. Software test engineers are responsible for ensuring that the software products they work on are of high quality. The candidate for this role will be conducting software inspections, testing, verification, and validation. This includes but is not limited to: review applicable software requirements to perform or direct verification of software, design, develop and execute test suite, report software issues, maintain and improve our quality standards, provide and implement recommendations to the team's quality processes and procedures, and collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders.
Must Have
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant exempt experience;
Master's Degree and 0 year of relevant professional experience
