We value team building and collaboration. This role requires onsite work at our headquarters in Monroe, WI, Monday-Friday.

What You'll Do
As a Software Developer working on System Modernization, your primary role encompasses not only maintaining and enhancing existing COBOL and JCL code, but actively participating in the modernization journey. You will collaborate with a dynamic team of developers and support staff to ensure the seamless operation of critical legacy systems.

Embracing a forward-looking approach, this role offers substantial opportunities to engage with cutting-edge technologies, particularly in the AWS cloud services environment. Your involvement in the modernization process will expose you to modern scripting languages like SQL, Python, and Java, allowing you to contribute to the creation of new services and systems. This ensures that you'll stay abreast of the latest tech stack, striking a balance between legacy systems and contemporary technological advancements.

The salary range for this role is $70,000-$110,000. Salary will be determined based on a candidate's qualifications, experience, and fit for the role.

Qualifications

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Software Developer who is eager to expand their knowledge and apply software development principles and architecture. The ideal candidate will transform data into valuable information, convert information into actionable insights, and leverage these insights to drive educational and business decisions. We are also seeking:
• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics or appropriately related field preferred.
• Basic Knowledge of software development principles and architecture.
• Working technical experience with relational database servers.
• Ability to break down and understand complex business problems, define a solution, and implement it using advanced quantitative methods.
• Experience working with and creating data architectures.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings
• Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is required)
• Experience querying databases and using statistical computer languages: COBOL, JCL, R, Python, SLQ, etc. to manipulate data and draw insights from data sets.
• Experience using web services: Redshift, S3, REST APIs, etc.
• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service

Note: This is an onsite position. You'll be expected to work at our corporate headquarters in Monroe, WI Monday through Friday each week.
