This position reports to Vertiv's Senior Manager in the Tax Provisions and Reporting area. This role will assist in the preparation of workpapers related to the company's global income tax provision, as well as perform tax research and calculations related to tax planning projects. The position will work with our internal staff and shared service group as well as local accounting teams. This role will be part of an internal team that calculates and documents the components of the company's global income tax provision, including the assessment of tax risk and the need for income tax reserves. This position will also regularly interact with representatives of other departments to gather and test information necessary to complete the company's income tax provision.

The position will also be responsible for reconciling differences in the company's income tax accounts and implementing "best practices" that are designed to ensure the accuracy of the income tax accounts.

This role is located at our corporate HQ's in Westerville, Ohio.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in data collection and preparation of Vertiv's quarterly and annual tax provision workpapers (Domestic and non-US) to ensure materially accurate and timely tax provision workpapers and associated reporting while maintaining adequate documentation
  • Monitor and reconcile income tax payable and receivable accounts, maintaining a firm understanding of the entities' estimated income tax calculations and payments (prepared by other tax department/finance teams).
  • Initial review of tax provision workpapers prepared by shared service team as assigned
  • Maintain documentation of internal controls under SOX 404 to ensure adequate reviews are completed and maintained within the company's tax function.
  • Assists in other tax projects in the direct tax area as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in business required (Advanced degree a plus).
  • At least two years of experience in a tax position, either in public accounting or industry.
  • Experience with federal, state, local or international income tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and analytic abilities, with a proven track record of working effectively in a team and implementing process solutions with objective, measurable results.
  • Strong MS Excel and Word skills are essential.
  • Excellent organization skills, including the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • CPA License or progress toward licensure a plus.
  • Experience with tax research software (e.g. BNA) is a plus
  • Experience with OneSource Tax Provision (OTP), HFM Reporting and Oracle (or similar ERP system) is a plus.
