Summary:
The Senior Director - External Affairs - Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital (JDCH) oversees strategic activities related to business development and physician relationships as well as partnerships and relationships with organizations in the community, at large (local, national, etc.). This role works closely with the JDCH administrative team and health system leaders in terms of operations, business development, community relations, strategic planning, JDCH foundation, and various other areas to develop and nurture relationships that support the hospital's overall growth goals and external relationships.
Responsibilities:
Leads strategy development and leadership of external affairs, serves as senior-level resource to and liaison with community relations, marketing, business development, physician relations, corporate, philanthropy, and any other organizations/departments as determined by the growth strategy.Establishes relationships with corporations, community and civic organizations, regional school partners, and other potential partners that align with the strategic plan. A brand champion and visible leader in the community representing JDCH at the senior level including visibility and presence externally (i.e., board roles, chambers, etc.) and in public speaking engagements throughout the tri-county (Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach) and any other requests as assigned.Serves as a senior advisor, reporting to the Vice President of Regional Operations. Manages a wide variety of administrative and executive responsibilities, working with both key internal and external stakeholders to promote strategic goals and initiatives as an ambassador of hospital and health system brand, vision, mission, and key priorities.Cultivates initiatives that benefit Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital and the strategic growth plan.Leads initiatives that build and execute brand, strengthen marketing and communications, foster strategic partnerships, and expand relationships with community partners, industry leaders, and other influencers and stakeholders. Translates strategic plans into specific short- and long-term objectives and defines metrics and accountabilities for use in written proposals and agreements.Manages growth and change. Supports the leadership/mentoring and development of others. Participates in training and leadership activities for JDCH and Memorial Healthcare System (MHS) to influence across functional teams effectively, including, but not limited to, community leadership roles/events and leadership of community-based committees and counsels.Leads and supports regional planning of activities related to outreach, community support/visibility, social responsibility, corporate relations, strategic community stakeholder relations, physician relations and various events. Provides regular reports on healthcare market intelligence and trends for hospital and health system decision making.

Other Information: Additional Education Info: Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Communications, or relevant field of study. Master's degree preferred.
