Your Role:

Responsibilities include:

Scientist, Software Specialist will be part of the Drug Discovery Automation group responsible for designing and managing the infrastructure part of our cutting-edge cloud lab infrastructure providing drug discovery and chemistry services to Pharmaceutical and Biotech customers. The ideal candidate will have a background in developing software tools that close the gaps generated when created a fully integrated automated chemistry environment. Working knowledge in areas such as data science, Design of Experiments, data visualization, low level instrument control.

You will be responsible to:

  • Design, development, and implementation of new automated infrastructure
  • Develop and manage data system to track instrument readiness, performance, reliability, etc...
  • Work with internal and external resources to develop tools needed to accomplish AIDD mission.
  • Design and prototype custom devices/instruments required to support automated workflows
  • Participate in efforts to build and maintain a digital twin of the laboratory for hardware digitization efforts
  • Assist with developing and maintaining "Digital Twin" of automated laboratory
  • Support efforts to develop and maintain "Customer Dashboard" enabling full transparency of run details and status for customer and other stakeholders
  • Work closely with AIDD software team to develop and support data flow from A.I. tools to automated system instructions
  • Work with internal stakeholders to develop an order intake system to facilitate project requests.

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS Degree in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, chemical engineering or related fields (MS Degree preferred)
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in a chemistry automation lab environment.
  • Hand-on experience in automated workflows, including solid/liquid handling platforms, automated reaction execution tools and purification solutions.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (Python, LabVIEW, C++, Spotfire, etc...) , with the ability to develop creative solutions for a complex automated chemistry synthesis environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong experience in implementing automated chemistry software tools, including the use of robotic systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of scheduling software design and integration across an automated laboratory environment.
  • Experience with automation project development from concept, preliminary and final design, through construction, installation and project closure strongly
  • Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment, agile and face-paced teams
  • Self-driven, results-oriented leader with proven collaborative working style
