Discover Impactful Work:

As a Scientist III you would perform complex laboratory analysis of pharmaceutical products and proficiently uses analytical instrumentation, calculate and analyze data and record data in adherence with PPD SOP's and the industry. You will routinely act as the project leader on multiple projects, interact with clients, review and evaluates data, write reports and protocols. Responsible for the scientific conduct of the project and communication of regulatory issues with senior level team members.

A day in the Life:

  • Performs analytical method development/optimization/validation, and/or other specialty technologies studies
  • Performs a variety of complex sample preparation and analysis procedures
  • Works with multiple functional groups to meet business needs
  • Plans and organizes work with periodic supervision
  • Sets up and maintains analytical instrumentation
  • Trains on routine operation, maintenance and theory of analytical instrumentation, SOPs, and regulatory procedures and guidelines
  • Ensures QA findings are addressed appropriately
  • Communicates project status to project leaders
  • Provides assistance and training to other team members
  • Performs work assignments accurately, and in a timely and safe manner
  • Reviews, interprets, and analyzes data for technical, quality and compliance to protocols, methods, SOPs, client criteria and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) or Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
Keys to Success

Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
Experience
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years') or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience.
  • OR Masters degree and previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable 3+ years)
  • OR PhD
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Experience with HPLC, CE, iCE, or ELISA preferred
  • Full understanding of laboratory requirements, PPD & client SOPs, ICH guidelines, GMP requirements and FDA guidance
  • Ability to apply Microsoft Excel and Word to perform tasks
  • Proficiency on technical operating systems
  • Proven problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability in technical writing skills
  • Time management and project management skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative work environment with a team
  • Proven problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to train junior staff
