Apply now for the position of Scientific Innovation Portfolio Manager, and you will join our Innovation and Growth Product Portfolio Management and Marketing Team within the Research, Development & Innovation function.

As the Scientific Innovation Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for leading and executing a diverse innovation project portfolio while concurrently spearheading the establishment and maintenance of a robust project management system. The ideal candidate must excel in navigating through complex projects and strategically developing and implementing systems and strategies that will govern effective project and portfolio management practices in the setting of early innovation while ensuring a portfolio that is aligned with the company's innovation and growth strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Center in Innovation in Diagnostics (CID) innovation portfolio and have oversight of all active projects and the assessment of proposed new projects, using portfolio techniques to analyze and present the projects in a systematic manner to allow the CID leadership to identify relevant adjustments with respect to the composition of the CID's portfolio.
  • Maintain current project management tools and ensuring compliance of all project managers and technical leads within the organization to existing processes to enable tracking key performance metrics and project status to measure success.
  • Provide direct consultation to key innovation initiatives/projects, engage appropriate stakeholders, develop and validate research questions, collect and synthesize relevant data, develop insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with project sponsors, project leaders and stakeholders to aid in development of project proposals including definition of milestones, setting timelines and scope definition.
  • Create effective mechanisms for analyzing, visualizing, and disseminating relevant portfolio details to key stakeholders within the organization.
  • Develop new features and tools for project and portfolio management throughout the organization including generation of training materials, training execution and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor project plans, schedules, milestones and budget.
  • Build successful working relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Serve as project manager on special projects and initiatives.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%




Your Expertise:
  • 8+ years of progressive project and portfolio management experience in the medical device industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, engineering or related discipline required. Master's or PhD preferred.
  • Proven track record of building relationships within global matrixed teams and ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to communicate with stakeholders and different levels of management.
  • Must be able to provide leadership to generate options, resolve problems, prioritize solutions, select optimal solutions and implement decisions.
  • PMP and/or PgMP, PfMP or equivalent desired

The pay range for this position is $135,000 - $180,000 w/ 10% bonus of base; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
