Location: Oxford, OH
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Safety Engineer. This is an onsite role in Oxford, OH.

About the Role: As a Safety and Environmental Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of safety and sustainability within our organization. You will ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, conduct hazard analyses, and lead training programs to promote awareness and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and promote a SAFE First Culture.
• Ensure facility compliance with safety and environmental programs, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform job hazard analyses to identify potential risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Review and update location standards, policies, and practices to align with company and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with the Safety Manager to develop and deliver training programs for associates, supervisors, and other employees.
• Maintain required records and prepare reports to meet corporate and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct safety and environmental inspections of the warehouse.
• Organize and coordinate emergency response efforts.
• Conduct ergonomics assessments and implement solutions.
• Lead the safety committee and facilitate job safety analyses and hazard assessments.
• Coordinate accident investigations and reporting.
• Facilitate ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 compliance.
• Promote a culture of zero incidents and emphasize the value of our human resources.
• Complete monthly training on safety and environmental topics.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit requirements.

Qualifications:

• Self-motivated and confident professional with a passion for safety and sustainable development.
• Embrace a culture of continuous improvement and strive to exceed expectations.
• Act as a subject matter expert and mentor, educating the team on safety, health, and environmental aspects.
• Knowledge of ISO 14000 & OHSAS standards.
• Ability and willingness to train large groups of people.
• Strong project management skills with a focus on timely delivery.
• Minor schedule flexibility.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and OH DEP regulations.
• Experience in accident investigation and job safety analysis.
• Ability to lead and influence in a matrixed organization through strong working relationships.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• 1-3 years of experience in safety & environmental or engineering roles.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and general databases/web-based applications.
