Compensation Range
Annual Salary: $70,500.00 - $165,000.00 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)
About This Job
The main purpose of this job is to manage and service a portfolio of commercial real estate customers, including expanding, building and maintaining strong customer relationships with a resulting high level of customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions
- Assist the Relationship Managers in customer prospect calling, including customers with active and new credit opportunities
- Serve as an advisor for commercial real estate relationships while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and retention
- Evaluate customer service requests for existing relationships, including loan renewals and modifications
- Partner with Relationship Managers on credit requests, including: general underwriting, loan structuring/pricing, collateral, and analyzing credit risk
- Manage annual credit review schedule for team of Relationship Managers
- Prepare loan presentations and credit reviews as necessary
- Partner with Relationship Managers on the post approval process, including: appraisal and environmental review, loan documentation review and assisting in the closing process
- Maintain loan reporting, including: past dues, documentation and collateral exceptions, financial performance updates, portfolio profitability, etc
- Partner with Relationship Managers in the credit management of all watch list credits
- Ensure compliance with all Bank policies, procedures, regulations, and laws
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- Thorough knowledge of commercial banking field
- Thorough knowledge of commercial products, credit policies, procedures and terminology
- Ability to use a high degree of critical thinking skills in managing a large portfolio of diverse and complex commercial real estate relationships
- Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain a valid driver's license and meet Commerce Bank's driving record criteria; ongoing employment may be contingent upon meeting all driving requirements
- Inquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- 1+ years of commercial real estate banking experience required

The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for any applicable differentials (geographic, bilingual, or shift) that could be associated with the position or where it is filled. At Commerce, compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay is $70,500 to $165,000 annually. This position will be eligible for additional compensation through performance-based incentive plan(s) that will correspond to meeting performance goals.
