The Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies (HLS) is a leader in the study of international affairs and the languages, cultures and perspectives shaping our world. HLS takes a multidisciplinary approach to global education, offering instruction in over 80 languages, the most in the country, and helping students develop cultural fluency and expertise in nearly every region, including Africa, Russia, Latin America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Job Summary
- Greets and provides information for people coming to the 4th floor/Deans Suite.
- Answers the HLS general phone line, provides information or forwards calls to the appropriate person or office.
- Picks up mail for HLS Deans Office from the GISB mail room and delivers it to appropriate offices.
- Maintains Deans Suite office supplies inventory and purchases.
- Ensures that all copy machines in GISB are kept replenished with paper.
- Monitors HLS swag inventory.
- Assists Events Coordinator with event set-up and teardown, and event administrative support.
- Maintains Events supplies inventory.
- Monitors Events email inbox.
QualificationsEDUCATION
Required- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
SKILLS
Required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact and communicate with a wide variety of individuals
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner
- Maintains confidentiality
- Operating knowledge of standard office equipment
- Proficiency in Microsoft office Suite including Word, Outlook, Access and Excel

Advertised Salary$16.00 per hour.
Work HoursUp to 20 hours per week.
May require individual to work day hours and some night and weekend hours as needed for events.
