ECS is seeking a qualified Oracle DBA (Int) to support transformative science and technology solutions for the Department of Energy.

In this role, you'll perform Oracle Database Administrator functions, including implementing, monitoring, and reorganizing databases. You will code, test, implement, and maintain database architectures. Execute utility requirements such as reorganization, back-up and recovery. Analyze and resolve database system production problems. Analyze user requirements & statistics and participate in database design & performance evaluation reviews. Advise systems engineers on database coding issues. Prepare system documentation and may be involved in the data modeling process.
Specific tasks you will perform as a Database Administrator include, but are not limited to:
- Support availability and data protection of managed database systems
- Implement and configure backup methodologies for any managed database system component potentially restorable from backup per Mission Partner system backup standards.
- Monitor daily all backup job logs or reports to identify any failures or issues impacting capability to restore any managed database component or associated data.
- Test and verify backup and recovery strategies, methods, and processes for managed systems.
- Execute the recovery or re-installation of all database system components in order to meet or exceed the recovery time (RTO) or recovery point (RPO) objectives specified in the system's service level agreement (SLA)
- Execute either full or point-in-time data recovery to managed databases to fully restore data availability or system to fully operational state in order to meet or exceed the recovery time (RTO) or recovery point (RPO) objectives specified in the system's service level agreement (SLA).
- Implement and configure data replication schemes for managed systems to ensure data redundancy, alternate site processing capability, and system/data recoverability are continuously operational.
- Install or apply the database portion of any application upgrades or new releases, software version upgrades, or other system changes.
- Execute any database manipulation language (DML) or database definition language (DDL) scripts or packages.
- Perform tuning services to optimize the performance of the database individually or to the database as integrated to its master application.
Required Skills: - Bachelor's Degree in software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related field AND two years of experience working on ORACLE databases performing modeling and administration
OR - Associate's Degree in software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related field AND four years of experience working on ORACLE databases performing modeling and administration
OR - Six years of experience working on ORACLE databases performing modeling and administration
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret or DOE Q clearance throughout the life of the contract
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must currently live in Pittsburgh, PA or willing to relocate
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desired Skills: - Active Top Secret or DOE Q Clearance with the ability to maintain clearance throughout the life of the contract.
- Two or more years experience supporting US Government customers
- Project Management Professional certification
- Experience supporting complex government and programs of a research and development nature
