The purpose of this position is to provide technical support for performance characterization while working cross-functionally with other teams to create excellent ophthalmic product solutions. This position investigates and measures the optical performance of intra-ocular lenses (IOL) as needed for medical device development.
The incumbent is required to carry out extensive research in optical metrology, primarily in accommodative and refractive correction research areas. The optical engineer will be responsible for several measurements, such as modulation transfer function (MTF), surface profiling, wavefront, and so forth.
The candidate will serve as a subject matter expert for optical measurement of IOL and work with diverse engineering teams to understand IOL performance.
Internal interaction requires the interpretation of complex information, and external interaction requires the exchange of factual information.
Bachelor of Science in Optical, Opto-Mechanical, Photonics Engineering, or Physics.
The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
Software skills for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required.
