Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our diverse team as an Intermediate Network Administrator. This role is integral to supporting both classified and unclassified Department of Defense local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs).

The Advanced Network Administrator will be responsible for the evaluation, acquisition, installation, and ongoing support of high-performance computing center network and communication systems. This hands-on position will also supervise a team of subordinate network administrators and analysts, setting work priorities and reporting to the Program Manager. The candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders, attend meetings, and provide recommendations for network enhancements and improvements.

Compensation Minimum: $105,000

Compensation Maximum: $115,000

Job Requirements:

Skills /Experience Required

  • Hold a current Active Secret clearance
  • Key Responsibilities
  • 4 years professional IT experience
  • Cisco and/or Juniper Experience
  • Collaborate with users to analyze workflow, access, and security requirements; design router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
  • Evaluate and address network performance issues, including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency. Plan and execute the installation, configuration, and testing of network equipment
  • Maintain optimal network performance through monitoring, analysis, and tuning. Escalate issues to vendors as needed
  • Implement network access controls, monitoring systems, and documentation to secure the network
  • Collaborate with vendors to test and install network enhancements
Education / Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering degree or degree in Mathematics or Engineering
  • Relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal education for this position
  • DOD 8570.01 IAT II certification required to start (e.g., Security+). Must be able to obtain a DODM 8140.03 advanced level certification within 8 months (Advanced: CASP+, CCSP, GCIA, GCED, or GCIH)

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
