Oversees the Wellstar MCG Health Athletic Training Outreach Program and is responsible for performing all general supervisory duties for the athletic training outreach staff, including hiring, termination, and conducting annual performance appraisals in addition to the development, coordination, and evolution of athletic training outreach programming. This includes but is not limited to: developing and maintaining contracts with schools and other organizations; performing on-going assessment of program effectiveness and outcomes; identifying, developing and participating in essential educational activities; creating/updating policies and procedures and constructing an annual budget. This position is also responsible for providing contracted athletic training coverage at one high school on a daily basis. The remaining time will be allotted to performing the management and administrative functions associated with this position .
Requirements: Bachelor's degree. 5 years or more of experience in a clinical
orthopedic setting or athletic trainer outreach setting (high school or collegiate). Athletic Training State Licensure (GA).
• Knowledge of mechanism, evaluation, and treatment of medical and orthopedic sports conditions. • Knowledge of common orthopedic and sports medicine surgical procedures and appropriate post-operative rehabilitation programs. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Excellent organizational skills and detailoriented. • Ability to maintain confidentiality. • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
