Overview
Insmed is looking for an experienced Manager-level candidate to come in and support the Technical Accounting function. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of Big 4 accounting experience. The candidate will be working on an all-star caliber team and will have the opportunity for more long-term growth as the company continues to scale in size following recent positive developments and anticipated future growth. The candidate will report to the Director, Technical Accounting and responsibilities will include drafting technical accounting memos; developing global accounting policies; assisting with SEC reporting; supporting general month-end close activities, such as recording journal entries; and various ad hoc projects. This role will ideally be located within a commutable distance from Bridgewater, NJ but can be remote working EST.
Responsibilities
- Research, evaluate and document accounting positions in accordance with US GAAP and prepare appropriate internal documentation of technical accounting and other policy conclusions
- Perform and assist with the implementation of new accounting standards, including performing research, documenting position papers, and ensuring appropriate disclosure in SEC reporting documents
- Assist in preparation of SEC reporting documents, including Form 10-Q, 10-K, and Proxy, and related internal controls
- Assist with quarterly reviews and annual financial statement audits by external auditors
- Monitor emerging accounting and reporting regulations from the SEC, FASB, PCAOB, and other regulators and communicate potential areas of impact
- Participate in the review of the consolidated financial statements and back-up the consolidation processes
- Establish a global accounting policy handbook
- Ad hoc projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or similar area with 5 years of accounting/finance experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
- Experience working in a Big 4 public accounting firm required; minimum 3 years of experience preferred
- Strong technical accounting background with a thorough knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting standards, as well as experience with technical research
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability work cross-functionally with all levels of the organization
- Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail.
- Expert operational knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Experience with Oracle and Workiva preferred.
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and proactive.

Salary Range $111,000 - $156,133 a year
