Job Description Summary
This role is responsible for working cross functionally and benchmarking among the industry to design the strategic plan to reach the business goals in the Settlement team. This person will also work closely with other function leadership to manage all deductions impacting issues with urgency and effectiveness. The Settlement Manager supervises the steps performed by his / her direct reports, directly and indirectly, collaborate with key leaders in Supply Chain, Sales, Accounts Receivable teams, Marketing, Finance and IT to drive continuous process improvement and support any improvement initiative, maintain a balance between LW policies and customer benefits in the best interest of both customer and LW, understand business unit specific characteristics, and how to optimize them.
Job Description
- Manage and become an expert of the overall day to day operations for the Settlement Management process for assigned Business Units.
- Develop and maintain relationships with extended business functions within Lamb Weston (AR, Order Support, Contract Execution, etc.) and be the first point of contact for escalation on disputes and deduction resolution.
- Report out on weekly dispute balances and customer trends to Global Business Services leadership.
- Background in Accounts Receivable, Collections or Credit is preferred, as it plays a crucial role in resolving deductions and claims.
- Act as a liaison between extended business functions (Sales, Finance, etc.) and the Settlement Analysts to ensure accurate and timely completion of the assigned tasks.
- Ability to do root-cause analysis to remove roadblocks.
- Establish Key Performance Indicators for the department and review trend insights to communicate to business partners, leadership, and team reviews.
- Attend planning meetings and maintain confidentiality of ongoing projects.
- Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures to enhance speed, quality, efficiency, and output.
- Make business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, and justifiable in accordance with organization policies and procedures.
- Review performance data that includes financial, sales, and activity reports and spreadsheets, to monitor and measure departmental productivity, goal achievement, and overall effectiveness.
- Work with Human Resources/Recruiters to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ an appropriate number of employees.
- Provide oversight and direction to the employees in accordance with the organizations policies and procedures.
- Coach, mentor, and develop a team of 8+ individuals, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
- Consciously create a workplace culture that is consistent with the overall organization and emphasizes the Lamb Weston mission, vision, and values.
- Lead employees using a performance management and development process that provides an overall context and framework to encourage employee contribution and includes goal setting, feedback, and performance development planning.
- Own and drive continuous process improvement projects.
- Oversight of department SOX controls for completeness and accuracy.
- Other Duties as assigned to support the business.
Basic & Preferred QualificationsEducation and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field required.
- A Master of Business Administration degree is a plus.
- Applicants with a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Management Accountant, Certified Banking and Credit Analyst or similar certification are especially encouraged to apply
- 10+ years of Trade and non-trade deduction claims resolution experience in leading Consumer Goods Manufacturing industries or other related fields. Experience with CPG Foodservice, Retail, and Export business is an added advantage
- Prior experience managing people preferred
- Research, strong problem-solving, mathematical, and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Proficiency with Excel, ASI, Salesforce, Trade Promotion Management system (currently MEI) and SAP ERP programs that aid in statistical and financial calculations
- Ability to manage multiple priorities or projects
- Ability to work as a team leader, be organized, and plan ahead
Language Skills - Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Spanish knowledge is an added advantage.

A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $89,790.00 - $134,670.00
