Logistics Coordinator
Location: Hanover, MD (Onsite)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Compensation: $22 - $22 hourly based on experience
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping Coordinator to join our team in Hanover, MD. This individual will be responsible for managing freight and shipping logistics, supporting production, and tracking key metrics. The ideal candidate will have experience with both domestic and international shipping and be proficient in ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Freight and Shipping:
- Manage carrier relationships by negotiating the best rates, terms, and services.
- Provide freight estimates for internal teams, using specified and alternative carriers as needed.
- Coordinate customer returns and ensure timely issuance of credits.
- Arrange all freight pick-ups, ensuring the most efficient and cost-effective methods are used.
- Manage claims for missing or damaged freight in transit.
- Oversee inbound freight using best practices.
- Ensure daily freight demands are met, which may require adjusting your hours.
- Apply markup to freight for prepaid orders and track daily freight costs in a digital folder.
Production Support:
- Print and distribute production paperwork according to established processes.
- Keep daily production boards up-to-date by managing and tracking orders.
- Monitor and update backorders on a daily basis.
Miscellaneous:
- Record Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and update charts daily, including MIDs and On-Time Completion Percentage.
- Import and upload the previous day's shipments into the ERP system to ensure timely invoicing.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Experience with both domestic and international shipping required.
- ERP experience strongly desired.
- Proficiency in tracking and reporting metrics.
- Ability to work onsite in Hanover, MD.
