Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Brandenburg is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Logistics Coordinator. The successful candidate will coordinate truck, rail, barge shipments, maintain rate tables, participate in rate negotiations, maintain communication with transportation partners, Nucor Steel Brandenburg Sales Team, Nucor Logistics Center, shipping operations, and truck scales. In addition, this position will also be responsible for the implementation and use of the Carrier Point traffic management system and would be able to thrive in the dynamic environment of a start-up. Occasional travel will be required for this position. This role will be a key business partner with Logistics Lead in traffic administration to facilitate continuous improvement, commercial excellence and on time delivery. All other duties as assigned.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

Previous freight/logistics experience
1+ year experience in an administrative role or applicable experience
1+ year experience using Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) in a business setting

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year of previous rail experience & working with class I railroad system
• Knowledge of shipping operations & truck industry
• Knowledge of Carrier Point or other traffic management systems and ability to negotiate freight rates.
• Ability to demonstrate a professional presence to both internal and external customers.
