Job Summary:

The Legal Contract Specialist is a key member of the Legal Department's contract team. This invidual serves as the initial point of contact for contract review and helps to negotiate contract provisions that are consistent with WellStar's expectations.
The Legal Contract Specialist is responsible all legal contracts processed through the Legal Department. The Legal Contract Specialist logs and tracks contracts and serves as a subject matter expert on contracts.
The Legal Contract Specialist also has responsibility to review contracts, with appropriate attorney guidance, and where appropriate, assigns contracts to attorneys for review. . This individual will also liaise attorneys to answer any questions for complex contracts. The Specialist will use information technology systems to make him/her more efficient in performing job duties.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Contract Administration
- Responsible for the overall coordination of contract negotiation and administration to ensure compliance and WellStar policies and governmental regulations.
- Assists with the maintenance of contracts management database system and Documentum
- Works as liaison between the business owners and corporate departments as required Compliance
- Serves as a liaison between WellStar Health System and vendors related to contract terms condisions; Assists in facilitation of contract review, negotiation, and approval.
- Conducts research and/or gathers documents in connection with due diligence as required by Corporate departments
- Tracks any potential issues associated with vendor contract terms and conditions compliance Communication:
- Reports on task progress and answers targeted questions about progress as requested
- Responsible for providing updates on specific contract or contract portfolios as required
- Serves as the liaison between departments and vendors in relation to contract changes
- Articulates and demonstrates empathy with customers' needs, including timeline and scope
- Ability to anticipate probable customer questions and provides timely answers to unanticipated questions
- Uses daily interactions with others to develop or strengthen internal and external professional relationships Quality:

Required Minimum Education:

High school diploma Required or
equivalent from accredited program Required and
Associate's Degree Preferred or
Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.


    Additional License(s) and Certification(s):

    Certified Paralegal Upon Hire Preferred

    Required Minimum Experience:

    Minimum 3 years in a paralegal/legal assistant position Required or
    related field with specific contract management and negotiation responsibility.

    Required Minimum Skills:

    Communicates well with others and presents a positive image to WellStar team membersand vendors.
    Clear, concise and persuasive writing skills.
    Strong organizational and critical thinking skills and an orientation to deadlines and detail.
    Ability to respond well under pressure while multi-tasking.
    Skilled in use of information systems, databases, Excel and Microsoft Word.
    Enjoys working as a member of a cohesive team.
    Well-developed communications and consensus building skills.
