Job Description

Position Summary: Ensures routine facility management operations are aligned with the Sr. Facilities Services Manager and overall goals of facilities. Responsible for leading a team of contractors who provide Facilities Management services for all Thermo Fisher Scientific - Pittsburgh locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that facilities are safe, clean, secure, and allow for continuity of business conducted within them
  • Provide a workplace that is accommodating for colleagues and guests and promotes Thermo Fisher Scientific as an employer of choice
  • Assist in managing the access control systems for all Pittsburgh locations
  • Coordinates and schedules of maintenance activities using Work Order Systems for all Pittsburgh locations
  • Lead and coordinate weekly employee moves at all Pittsburgh locations
  • Respond to site-based emergencies including those that occur after-hours, coordinate emergency evacuations, and update/implement building emergency response, business continuity, and contractor safety plans
  • Ensures projects are within established budgets
  • Assist with the facilitation of daily team meetings to improve the level of service provided by all facilities teams.
  • Play an active role in the Pittsburgh Speak Out On Safety (SOOS) team
  • Conduct routine Gemba walks
  • Other duties as required
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • High School Education or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience
  • Experience with Work Order Management Systems
  • Ability to read and comprehend construction/furniture blueprints
Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:
  • Superior customer service skills and orientation
  • Proficiency with computers and MS Office
  • Must be well versed in Lenel Security System Software and iOffice Facilities Management Software
  • Must be available for on-call building emergencies 24/7/365
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Ability to maintain professionalism at all times under stressful situations
  • Ability to plan and manage work and meet deadlines
