Job Title: Greenhouse Technician

Description:
We are looking for a responsible and highly motivated Greenhouse Technician to join the Controlled Environments Team. Here, you will help us grow whats next. No matter what your role, you will be part of a team that is building the future of agriculture - solving the worlds food problems through innovation, technology, and putting people first. We have an exciting opportunity to join our company at our Johnston, Iowa research facility.
We are looking for candidates who take initiative, love to learn, work hard, and have a stable work history.

Key Responsibilities:
* Diligently tassel bag and shoot bag in corn pollination rooms
* Transfer plants on carts to correct room locations
* Execute on plant care tasks for various crops according to a defined schedule
* Perform routine greenhouse sanitation tasks like discarding regulated material
* Work one weekend every three months, with comp days

Qualifications:
* High school diploma/GED required. Bachelor's degree in agriculture, horticulture, plant physiology, molecular biology, entomology, plant pathology is preferred, or two or more years of relevant experience
* Good communication skills, a high degree of self-motivation, positive attitude, close attention to detail
* Works well independently and with minimal supervision
* The ability to drive company vehicles, such as a tug
* Good basic computer skills, including experience with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook), and willingness to gain competency with internally developed research software
* Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift up to 30 pounds and perform repetitive work in a warm, humid greenhouse with pollen present year-round
* At Corteva, we have a very strong safety culture and implement safety in everything that we do. You must follow all safety protocols and monitor ergonomics

Hours:
Work shift 7:30AM - 4:00PM, M-F with rotational weekend work (approximately every three months, 7:30AM - 4:00PM) and rotational holidays required.
