Lab Microbiologist Job Description

Responsibilities will vary from performing one procedure or work instruction to a number of analytical microbiological or quality system procedures or work instructions in a Food Safety Laboratory. Precision and accuracy in performance of the work instructions and data collection is essential; must be able to maintain ISO records for process control and comply with quality system and safety requirements. Initial proficiency testing must be passing, and competency will be verified at least annually thereafter. Team member will be required to demonstrate proficiency and growth after training. Individual will be expected to demonstrate the ability to perform complex work instructions and or operate sophisticated equipment without close supervision; able to work independently and resolve routine problems; ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing; maintain ISO records for process control.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: Education: A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent. Prefer college level courses or degree in Biology Microbiology Chemistry Food Science and or Physical Sciences.
• Experience and or Expertise: Prefer laboratory experience.
• Computer Skills: General knowledge of Windows Microsoft Office Applications.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Supervisory: None
• Travel: None
