Eurofins DiscoverX Corporation is searching for an IT Manager based in San Diego CA.

IT Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :

  • Cooperate in the definition, and hands-on implementation of the Information Technology Solutions strategy existing in the different sites of Eurofins DiscoverX:
    • Follow and locally implements the general policies and guidelines, ensuring compliance within corporate and business line level standards;
    • Identifies, assesses, suggests, authors documentation and addresses ways that helps to harmonize and improve already in operation and new processes and systems;
    • Perform gap analysis and contribute to business / user requirements based on in-depth understanding of both business processes and group / business line / local IT system functionalities;
    • Represents Eurofins DiscoverX in relevant IT workgroups and committees (e.g. CAB);
    • Participate actively in locally IT deployments (e.g.: installation, customization, testing, documentation, and training);
    • Live the Eurofins values and implement the Eurofins leadership standards;
  • Contribute to the design, architecture and development of existing and new systems and keep the fit to the intended use of the existing ones, ensuring that those are properly handled to meet regulatory and business requirements, namely: regulatory compliance, data integrity, IP protection, data privacy, disaster recovery and business continuity;
  • Maintains quality of service by establishing and enforcing organization standards;
  • Oversees the internal IT support function;
  • Manage and support inspections and audits performed by internal and/or external customers and authorities;
  • Guide and support audit remediation and control gap closure activities;
  • Guide and perform vendor audits and assessments;
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Act, when required, as a local facilitator with the IT Infrastructure group;
  • Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate would possess :
  • Minimum 10 years professional experience in overall IT industry in IT systems design, development, deployment, and support;
  • 5 years of experience with business process design and improvement, in the scope of large systems implementation, preferably in a laboratory / bioinformatics environment;
  • Experience managing international customers/projects;
  • Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies;
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner is welcomed.
  • High level of English communication skills (concise writing and orally convincing);
  • Knowledge of tools, concepts, and methodologies related to project management and development;
  • Strong understanding of software design/architecture processes;
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements in the Life Sciences industry;
  • Good familiarity with technologies/architectures such .Net, Java, Rest, Mongo, SQL Server, Oracle, Apex, Docker, xUnit, Angular, Javascript, SOAP, Git, AWS, Windows, Linux, SharePoint, TFS and related is a plus factor.
  • Very good interpersonal relation skills at all levels of the organization, with capability to influence decisions and lead others to achieve results;
  • Focused with excellent organization and prioritization skills;
  • Details oriented, analytical and investigation skills;
  • Ability to understand the big picture;
  • Elicitation and comprehension skills;
  • Ability to work in a complex international environment;
  • Responsive problem solver and proactive to take actions;
  • Eager to learn and continuously develop personal and technical capabilities.
Basic Minimum Qualifications :
  • Bachelor of Business Administration, Computer Science or Management Information Systems: or any other equivalent degree or experience.
  • Travels to Eurofins facilities located worldwide are required, including during weekends;
  • Percentage of working time of approximately 10-20%.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates living in the San Diego California area are encouraged to apply.
