Job Summary

Summary: As a Computer Operator Technician II, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of information in and through all computer systems. This involves the running of system utilities and programs as well as printing, quality control, and media distribution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitors and maintains all computer, network and environmental systems, utilizing escalation procedures for problem resolution.
• Utilizes schedules and schedulers, requests, and procedures.
• Ensures backup, batch, and online processing standards.
• Trains new operators on duties and tasks.
• Performs routine system maintenance.
• Maintains vault storage and rotation in accordance with data center specifications.
• Interfaces with other departments (SAP functional team, Network, Midrange team, Basis team, Telecom, payroll, etc.) and vendors.
• Communicates to all necessary parties shift issues through shift status reports and summaries.
• Insures strict adherence to all Information Technology policies and procedures.
• Maintains physical security of the print room, computer room, and the computer systems.
• Recognizes and identifies potential areas to improve or create processes.
• Develops and maintains service level agreements with various user departments and enterprise business units.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Information Technology operations experience is preferred.
• Experience working in a large computer environment.
• Knowledge of SAP scheduling and batch processing is preferred.
• UNIX experience is preferred.
• System backup experience is preferred.
• Advanced computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
• Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree course work in progress in computer science or business administration is preferred.
