This is an onsite role (though hybrid with onsite 2-3x/week could be considered).
The Human Resources Specialist is a key member of the HR team and works closely with the HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to deliver HR services, which include administration of worker's compensation, entering union dues, acting as a primary point of contact to log grievances, and provide other union reports. The HR Specialist establishes and maintains strong working relationships with the HRBPs; HR leadership, managers and staff; and key contacts across the enterprise. They provide assistance and problem-solving services to HRBPs and business customers and effectively uses technology to analyze data and create reports as needed. The HR Specialist participates on projects and mid/large scale initiatives in support of business customers and the HR department.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serve as a primary contact person for HR Support Center staff to assist with and triage escalated employee requests and issues.
• Serve as liaison to Shared Services groups including Benefits, Kronos, HRIS, Records, and Leaves. Resolve complex issues that span multiple departments.
• Assist with updating and distribution of Mass General Brigham HR policies and provide assistance and direction for new managers and other employees around HR related system and policy questions.
• Collaborate with HRBPs, HR management and others as needed on short- and long-term projects in support of organizational redesign, administrative consolidation, market reviews, etc.
• Processes, approves, resolves issues and enters data changes into PeopleSoft.
• Assist with the develop and maintenance of job descriptions and related platforms.
• Contributes to ideas and suggestions for interventions and solutions to improve team processes, effectiveness or efficiencies.
• Conduct exit interviews, maintain awareness of employee experience data, including surveys and relevant dashboards. identify trends and themes, and report results to HRBPs.
• Research and respond to data requests in support of HR team needs. In collaboration with other HR team members, act as superuser for HR system and technology (e.g., Workday, UKG, JDXpert, Healthstream, Taleo, Onbase etc.).
• May participate in internal or cross-enterprise committees and workgroups.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS :
• Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of training and experience
• At least 1-3 years related experience in the Human Resources field
• Good understanding of current state/federal employment laws and the organizational policies and procedures requires to meet them
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Proficiency with PeopleSoft or similar system preferred
• Experience with Tableau or other business intelligence/data visualization software a plus
• PHR, SHRM-CP, or other HR certification a plus

• Solid understanding of organizational policies, procedures, and practices as well as current state and federal labor and employment laws.
• Understanding of HR and other corporate functional departments and ability to draw on their resources as appropriate. These functions include Benefits, Compensation, Employee & Labor Relations, EAP, Office of the General Counsel, Privacy, Compliance, Information Security, Employee Records, HRIS, Police & Security, Payroll, and Commuter Services.
• Can independently manage small projects.
• Ability to manage multiple project commitments in addition to day-to-day responsibilities.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create, facilitate, and execute formal communication, presentations, and training programs in response to business partner needs.
• Strong customer-service orientation. Effective in operating in a collaborative, matrixed environment.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision; understands when to escalate issues.
• Self-directed, motivated, and engaged; willing and able to commit the time necessary to accomplish the position's objectives
• Possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams including staff at all levels of the organization
