Job Summary
In this role, the human resources generalist will serve as a resource for the human resources department to achieve HR operational activities involving plant operations, while also developing corporate HR skills that would effectively transfer to a plant HR Manager role.
- Effectively communicate and be able to support a culturally diverse workforce of 1,300+ employees.
- Assist with conducting workplace investigations, especially matters referred to corporate HR through the company's Lighthouse hotline. Be able to see identify and escalate trends or issues. Complete initial investigations maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
- Support other plants in investigations and other plant based human resources activities needing corporate support.
- Learn and assist with corporate HR functions that will broaden knowledge and support development as an HR manager.
- Effectively create and maintain critical reports for management.
- Provide verbal translation for individual meetings including but not limited to; investigations or supporting various training efforts.
- Translate written materials as needed for other areas of departments, such as training materials, communication materials, company handbooks, procedures, etc.
- Be responsible for knowledge of day-to-day employee relations activities within our plants including employee engagement and retention activities
- Support the HR Director in organizing and retrieving corporate records, reports, policies in OneNote.
- Take minutes of the regular Human Resources Department conferences, ensuring the effective communication with the members of the HR team
- Provide support to the Director of HR in other assigned projects as needed.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications (Required):
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in Spanish and English (speaking, reading, and writing).
- Associate degree in Human Resources, business or related field.
- 1-2 years of Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to travel up to 60%.
- Work hours contingent on business needs.
- Ability to perform duties with minimal direction, while managing your time and projects in a fast paced and changing manufacturing work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field.
- Prior HR experience in a manufacturing environment; strong preference towards food manufacturing/processing.
- Current knowledge of State and Federal employment laws and regulations, Labor and Employee Regulations, and benefits.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to communicate on all levels.
- Solid working knowledge of computer skills with experience in Windows-based PCs and Microsoft Office.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment and exercise mature judgment.

Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, desk phones, and smartphones. The position will also be required to regularly visit production facility work environments.
