Job Description:
The Department of Music at Binghamton University (State University of New York) seeks to hire a full-time, tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Music specializing in Vocal Coaching and Opera Conducting beginning on September 1, 2025.
The Department offers the Bachelor of Music degree in performance, the Bachelor of Arts (in performance, composition, or musicology), and the Master of Music degree with concentrations in conducting, opera/voice, composition, instrumental performance, music history and literature, and collaborative piano. A constituent member of the newly founded School of the Arts, the department boasts vibrant training programs in opera, composition, conducting, instrumental performance, and jazz. Our diverse faculty shares commitments to inclusive programming and antiracism.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic vocal coach with high-level piano skills and a broad knowledge of repertoire and language with Opera conducting experience at the University or professional level. The responsibilities of this position include:
