Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm
Job Summary: The Groundskeeping Team Lead provides basic labor for landscape and flower installation and maintenance. Works outdoors in all types of weather. Drives University vehicles such as trucks, golf carts, mowers, and tractors from site-to-site. Assists with supervision of other grounds keeping employees in department.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of grounds keeping experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to work overtime, sometimes on short notice. Will often require long days, on your feet, standing, walking, lifting, and carrying. Over 8-hour days may be required based on the condition of the grounds and campus event schedules including football games. Will require you to work during all climates of weather, hot, cold rain, etc., depending on the season. Works at a series of assigned locations on job related activities, including football games. Must meet regular attendance requirements. Must accomplish the essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodations, in a timely manner. Closely observes and adheres to all safety rules and regulations as listed on product and equipment labels and as directed by management. Leaves work site clean and orderly, ensures that all tools and equipment are cleaned, and materials are secured. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Must have a valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with university policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.
