Acts as the overall EPM for large strategic projects that require multi-division coordination while acting as the single point of contact for the client(s). Oversee all aspects of construction projects, from beginning to end including review of estimates, customer acquisition, project schedule, schedule of values, positive project cashflow, forecasting and close out with the customer. EPM has direct responsibility for project execution while leading a team, or teams, to accomplish specific objectives in a given time frame and with available resources. Accountable for assigned projects' scope of work, schedule and budget. In addition, this role is responsible for projects that have the following criteria:
- Sell price greater than $3M for Controls
- Project may exceed 1 year, having high strategic value
- Multiple technologies, vendors and subcontractors.
- High degree of customer interface.
- Contract may contain penalty clauses and or liquidated damages.
- Albireo Energy may be a Prime Contractor.
- Project may include general construction systems and technologies, outside of Albireo Energy's core competency.
- Required to manage multiple Project Managers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the timely completion of assigned projects and customer satisfaction.
- Drives Schedule, plans and analyzes assigned projects, establishes schedules with internal divisions, project managers and project parameters and sets procedures to accomplish system objectives, involving complex contracting applications.
- The candidate must have a broad knowledge of fast paced datacenter workflow to drive schedule, and work crew flow plans at times working with a large project superintendent/s responsible for on-site crew and workflow plans.
- Typical Data centers are 30-80 Megawatts, multi-phase, multi-year projects.
- Creates and revises project schedules including generating tasks, estimates, dependencies; milestones, CPM Analysis; and Histogram Analysis.
- Drives engineering teams by assigning and scheduling due dates working with the Engineering Manager.
- Supports PM on prioritization of tasks.
- Examines and reviews contracts, terms and conditions, and estimates by performing risk analysis and developing risk plans.
- Work with internal divisions to establish booking budgets, divisional financial budgeting for schedule of values and billing, assist with tracking divisional splits when payments are received, and internal distributions are followed up through administrators.
- Responsible for changing order management by recommending solutions, facilitating quotes and closing orders.
- The candidate must demonstrate that he/she has experience guiding and coaching multiple division project managers assigned to a project, tracking divisional labor breakouts, mark-up, and margins.
- Ensures compliance with internal contracting processes.
- Meets with contractors and owners to discuss scope of project; budgets; performance; and close-out.
- Oversee the preparation of material and vendor orders; recording the receipt of materials and approving payments. Larger projects will incorporate Project Administration to help support and track material delivery status for billing justification.
- Prepares sub-contractor request for quotations (RFQ) after award including scope statements; plans and milestone dates; specs; bonding requirements; and billing schedule of values.
- Receives and qualifies subcontractor proposals; supervises work of project assigned staff, subcontractors and installers.
- Responsible for project cash-flow management: progress billing, collections support and monitoring, and resource management.
- Ensures that quality standards are maintained for assigned projects.
- Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and assigned staff.
- Establishes professional relationships and communicates with field support staff and customers and their representatives. Interfaces constantly maintain accurate status reports and project reviews.
- Obtains acceptance and timely sign-off of the project by the customer.
- Responsible for the successful transition of warranty to the service process.
- Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required.
- Some travel with occasional overnight stays.
Requirements Educational Requirements - Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management with a minimum of 10 years of experience or nine years of experience in the construction Industry or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience and knowledge in using Project Management Tools (Smartsheet's, CPM, PERT, Gantt Charts) is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Primavera Expedition and P3/Suretrak required. Familiarity with financially guaranteed contracts, the operation of energy management systems, HVAC systems, EPMS systems, temperature controls, and process control (PLC) systems is preferred.
Must possess the communication skills and level of literacy, scientific knowledge and mathematical skills commensurate with the completion of High School and/or higher-level education. Must have a general working knowledge of basic engineering, electricity, mechanical HVAC systems and the building construction industry.
