Position Summary

This role will support the research and development engineering team within ICU Medical's temperature management business unit. This role will be supporting all R&D engineering aspects of the product development process and post market activities. The Engineer II, Electrical will design and develop electrical and electro-mechanical components for medical devices. An Engineer II, Electrical is also responsible to develop models, perform engineering analysis, build prototypes, and perform engineering studies to demonstrate design feasibility. On-Market and configuration management support is also required in assisting with engineering change orders, bill of materials, process instructions, schematic updates and document releases. An Engineer II, Electrical will work in conjunction with more senior engineering staff to support product development projects, focusing on mid-level task execution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conducts engineering activities of intermediate scope or degree of difficulty. This could include medium - large components/system, processes associated with a medium or large projects.
• Provide electrical engineering support with testing analog and digital circuits using various lab equipment.

• Responsible for generating and managing design release packages for design changes that are compliant with established procedures.
  • Performs assignments independently with limited supervision as to expected results.
  • Prepares documentation associated with engineering activities.
• Support activities related to design FMEA analysis.
  • Determines resolution of intermediate technical issues as needed and assures that technical work meets specified requirements.
  • Understands and follows requirements of SOPs.
  • Contributes to corrective action development and alternative solutions.
• Work on special projects as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills

• Ability to triage a design concept and drive a solution to completion.

• Must be able to work with schematic capture and PCB layout tools for the purpose of assisting with generating design release packages and updating electrical schematics.

• Must have knowledge of performing tasks related to creating and maintaining design information in PLM tools such as SAP or Agile.

• Experience with Altium preferred.

• Experience with Microsoft project/planner preferred.

• Ability to identify technical risks and communicate the issue to project/engineering manager.

• Ability to critically review and interpret technical documentation.

• Intermediate problem solving and analytical ability.

• Ability to manage their own workload to achieve tasks assigned by management or more senior engineers.

Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

• Electrical Engineering degree preferred

• 2+ years experience

Work Environment

• This is largely a sedentary role

• This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment

• This job will require the use of laboratory equipment

• On-site attendance 2-3 days per week

• Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time
