Environmental Health & Safety Manager

YETI is looking for a very motivated Safety Manager to serve as the single point of contact for environmental health and safety for all YETI facilities. As an Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager, you will develop and maintain safety programs under the Sr. Facilities Manager. This position will be responsible for successfully integrating EHS initiatives into the global operations of YETI by implementing systems, processes, and procedures to prevent injuries, violations of the law or company policies, and minimize the environmental impact of our operations. You will oversee all EH&S programs and conduct investigations when required.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain EH&S policies, programs and SOPs to ensure best practice
- Evaluate performance of business functions, identify EH&S gaps and take corrective actions
- Develop and implement emergency action and contingency plans; facilitate employee emergency preparedness education and training programs
- Oversee contractor safety programs
- Perform regular audits and inspections of all locations and business functions to ensure EH&S compliance
- Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analysis of hazards and vulnerabilities
- Facilitate safe work techniques, effective safety methods and processes, evaluating performance management training, and regulatory compliance
- Ensure compliance with governing regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, etc.)
- Oversee investigation processes to ensure proper documentation and reporting
- Ensures that safety data sheets (SDS) are vetted, maintained and available
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must possess working knowledge of OSHA/DOT/EPA pertaining to Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
- Embodies integrity, professionalism, and high ethical standards
- Experience in application of formal risk assessment and/or system effectiveness methodologies in management of a project or organization.
Required Skills / Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- OSHA 10 Certified
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineer (Safety, Occupational Safety and Health), or related field required
- 6+ years of related experience
Physical Requirements:
- Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time
