PURPOSE:
Directs, organizes, plans, and develops the implementation and administration of human resources functions and carries out policies and procedures relating to all phases of human resources activities for the company's primary supporting functions. Oversees activities relating to personnel policies, procedures and regulations, staffing, employee education and training, management development, succession planning, labor relations, affirmative action, workers compensation administration, benefits administration, and salary administration. Provides direction and guidance for a team of HR Business Partners across the company’s SG&A functions.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


* Lead a team of Human Resources Business Partners (HR Managers) to provide human resources support for the corporate SG&A functions.
* Serve as the strategic resource for Executive Leadership of defined functional areas on topics relating to organizational design, organizational development, job analysis and overall business capability. Serve as an active member on any of these functional Staffs and any of their business partner teams, as necessary.
* Provide counseling and assistance to business partners in the topical areas of HR: policy and procedures, benefits administration, salary administration, training, organizational development, performance management, employee relations, employee selection - recruiting and other key human resource areas.
* Serve as a change agent for HR policies, procedures, and practices. Provide assistance, guidance, and input in the review and revisions of any company or functional policies, procedures and practices in support of day-to-day business activities and to achieve best practice.
* Support the company's efforts to deploy the Woodmark culture and seek to create the right environment for our business and our employees. Serve as an advocate for both the company and our employees in all employee relations situations.
* Any additional projects as assigned in support of the company's vision.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position typically supervises both exempt and non-exempt employees and is responsible to set goals and evaluate the performance of these employees. Direct reports for this position include HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and Human Resources Managers. Indirect reports may include HR generalists, specialists, or administrative professionals.



QUALIFICATIONS: (Education, Experience and Skills)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.


Education, Experience and Skills


* An undergraduate degree in human resources, business or related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
* A minimum of 7 years of management experience; a history of progressively responsible and hands-on HR experience; experience as an HR business partner serving a business unit or division-wide (or larger) organization is preferred.
* Experience in developing and administering HR programs including, but not limited to, recruiting, policies and procedures, employee relations, salary and benefits administration, performance management, organizational development, succession planning, training, safety and state and federal compliance;
* Successful track record of project management and team experience;
* Knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) of all types (core HR and payroll, learning management, talent management, performance management, etc.) and Client Server environments;
* Excellent personal computer skills to include a good, working knowledge of Microsoft Office -- particularly Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint.
* Certification through SHRM and/or HRCI preferred.



Language Skills:
Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to reach all levels of the organization. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret statistical reports and financial documents. Ability to listen and communicate effectively with customers/clients in an effort to carry out responsibilities or respond to common inquires. Ability to develop presentations to be delivered to groups of employees and management.



Mathematical Skills:
Ability to complete and understand advanced data gathering, reporting and analysis. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as statistical and financial math calculations, determination of test reliability and validity, and analysis of variance.



Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, mathematical or diagram form and develop a plan of action to follow those instructions.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Lifting requirements are typically less than 20 pounds on an infrequent basis.



WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
This job has an alternate work location status and can be performed in a designated Woodmark location as well as another approved location -- typically an employee's home. Typical office environment. The noise level is usually moderate. Work hours and work location are flexible and determined by your immediate supervisor. The workweek is generally Monday through Friday with 3-4 days in the Corporate Office location. Occasional weekend or evening work required -- particularly to service an assortment of locations in differing time zones. Travel is required for specialized training, for exposure to operations in the field and to build relationships with client leadership. 30% travel is expected.
