Role Definition
Provide leadership to formulate, propose and implement interest rate risk, debt placement strategies, foreign exchange, and funding strategies for Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation (CFSC), manage CFSC pricing functions, manage global factoring programs for CFSC and support key processes in support of the corporate business plan.

Responsibilities
• Oversees regional funding in either North America or Latin America, including the management and issuance of short and long-term debt securities, including commercial paper, medium-term notes, bank bilateral financing, and other capital solutions.
• Oversees cash management team for North America, supports regional line units with banking and account management needs, and structures and administers intercompany funding.
• Oversees the administration of the global interest rate and FX risk management systems and processes and provides asset liability management leadership and recommendations for regional line units.
• Oversees global pricing function with responsibilities including the establishment of cost of funds, annual spread target setting, monthly reporting, and ROE evaluation of all transactions reviewed by Credit Committee.

• Advises portfolio managers and ALM committees on managing risk-return profiles of portfolios and products.
• Leads discussions on the rationale for modifying or switching asset liability portfolio risk management strategies.
• Predicts the future trends and developments in asset and liability management.
• Develops ALM portfolio and risk management strategies for unique, complex, and risky situations.
• Creates a monitoring system for business environment, risks, and financial instruments in order to assess validity and relevance.
• Proposes alternative strategies to achieve desired and optimal ALM risk-return profiles.

Financial Instruments: Knowledge of the concepts, types and applications of financial instruments; ability to perform analyses, management and other related tasks associated with financial service business.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Works with multiple aspects of a complex financial instrument, such as derivative securities.
• Consults on accounting processes and strategies for various financial instruments.
• Leads the payoffs calculation for complicated financial instruments, such as derivatives.
• Develops appropriate financial structure based on specific financial needs for an organization.
• Coaches on trading approaches and techniques for various financial instruments.
• Provides instructions and training sessions on the use of complex financial modeling.

Financial Markets: Knowledge of the products, types, competitors, customer base, major issues and regulatory considerations in the financial markets; ability to apply financial market knowledge to various business environments.

• Monitors the changes in international financial markets; keeps alert and responds quickly.
• Consults on reading and interpreting complex financial market reports.
• Designs, implements and adjusts organizational strategies and plans related to financial markets.
• Predicts the trends and directions of financial markets.
• Shares insights on the influence of emerging technologies on financial markets, such as Artificial Intelligence.
• Leads in discussing the issuance, circulation and withdrawal mechanisms of emerging financial instruments, such as Virtual Money.

Financial Risk Management: Knowledge of tools, techniques, and strategies applied in financial risk management; ability to quantify, qualify, and manage financial risk.
Level Expert:
• Designs and implements various types of risk management processes.
• Leads discussions on industry-specific and state-of-the-art risk management methods and models.
• Develops alternative risk and effectiveness measurement approaches.
• Champions the use of new risk management approaches and tools.
• Predicts future trends of risk assessment and management.
• Develops policy, strategy, and best practices for measurement and management of risk.

Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP): Knowledge of the generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); ability to apply GAAP appropriately within the organization.
Level Working Knowledge:
• Analyzes internal and external sources of information for accounting practices.
• Solves conflicting interpretations of the meaning and application of GAAP.
• Researches and reports any contradictions that may arise in regards to GAAP vs. local law.
• Uses established accounting practices in day-to-day assignments.
• Applies specific accounting principles in the context of given business situations.

Treasury Management: Knowledge of the principles and methods of managing treasury; ability to use tools, techniques and processes to maximize the value of an organization's financial assets and revenue while minimizing risk.
Level Expert:
• Champions the use of new technologies and procedures designed to streamline treasury operations.
• Mentors others on practical financial risk management techniques and solutions.
• Advises senior management on asset and liability management strategies.
• Creates a monitoring system for industry benchmarks; relates them to own organization.
• Leads all treasury operations functions.
• Consults others on how to locate and leverage new sources of funding.
