About the role:

We are in the beginning of a data transformation journey, including modernizing foundational data platforms and advanced analytics capabilities. We are looking for an individual to manage a team of Business System Analysts focusing on financial data initiatives and business intelligence solutions. The Director of Business Systems Analysis for Financial Reporting & Data Management is a leadership position within the Everest Technology Services division working closely with various functional areas of the Reinsurance, Insurance and Corporate business units. The role is accountable for the performance and results of his/her team. Sets team objectives, priorities and assigns work to team members. The individual will be responsible for hiring, developing their team, managing business stakeholder relationships, and contributing to annual budget planning.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead liaison between the client area, technical organization, and other affected areas in planning, directing, and supporting the analysis of complex business problems
  • Work closely with business partners to understand the business needs and challenges and support the development of project proposals
  • Manage and provide leadership to a team of Business Analysts on the proper elicitation techniques to ensure requirements are appropriately and efficiently identified, analyzed, and documented using industry standard analysis techniques
  • Accountable for providing project leadership including facilitating requirements gathering and presenting findings to all levels of management
  • Provide insights and recommendations to help verify that the solution/technology is meeting business requirements
  • Proactively manages and prioritizes the product backlog, release plans, and sprint backlogs according to business value, complexity, and expectations. Ensure business needs are conveyed to the Scrum team
  • Conforms to Company standards and practices to comply with Internal Audit and SOX controls

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS Degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and progressive experience
  • 10+ Years Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst Experience
  • 5+ Years managing staff both onshore and offshore.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments
  • Strong critical thinking & problem-solving competency with the ability to researches complex data-oriented problems
  • Experience working with financial data systems that interface with the General Ledger, familiar with month-end processing.
  • Proactive and results driven with a positive can-do attitude
  • Excels in a team environment (distributed)

Skills and Experience:
  • Agile Product Owner
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Commercial Insurance and Financial principles preferred
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Visio
  • Technical experience with BI Tools and/or the MS BI Stack a plus
  • Exposure to APIs and understanding of XML and JSON language nice to have
