As the Director of Events and Experiences, you will lead the strategic development and execution of high-impact events that align with business objectives, drive brand awareness, and engage target audiences. You will oversee both partner events across our partner ecosystem and industry engagements, collaborating with internal teams-including marketing, partner, sales, creative, content, and leadership-to ensure seamless integration of event strategies into broader marketing efforts.

What You'll Do

Event Strategy Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a global event strategy that aligns with Slalom's marketing goals, supporting both brand positioning and business objectives.
  • Design differentiated experiences that go beyond traditional event formats, creating memorable interactions for current and future clients and partners, positioning Slalom ahead of competitors.
  • Oversee the end-to-end execution of high-profile events, including internal and external flagship events, partner ecosystem engagements, and industry conferences.
  • Ensure event strategies are integrated into larger marketing campaigns, driving brand awareness and business engagement.
  • Champion operational excellence, setting standards for event execution and ensuring the consistent application of best practices across all events.
Team Leadership:
  • Mentor and guide a high-performing events team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Encourage innovation and continuously enhance the attendee experience, ensuring Slalom stays ahead of industry trends.
  • Lead talent development within the team by providing growth opportunities, coaching, and support to event managers and specialists.
Partner & Industry Event Management:
  • Lead the execution of partner events within Slalom's ecosystem, collaborating with partner managers and stakeholders to maximize event impact.
  • Manage the execution of industry conferences, ensuring Slalom's thought leadership and offerings are effectively showcased.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with partners, vendors, and industry stakeholders to ensure successful event delivery and foster long-term partnerships.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate across teams-including sales, creative, content, and leadership-to ensure event strategies align with broader business and marketing objectives.
  • Work closely with the global marketing team to maintain consistency in messaging and alignment with brand goals across all events.
  • Serve as a liaison to local markets for event forecasting and coordination, ensuring alignment with the global event strategy.
Vendor & Partner Management:
  • Oversee relationships with key external partners, vendors, and agencies to ensure seamless event execution and delivery of event-related deliverables.
  • Ensure external partnerships meet Slalom's standards of excellence and align with business goals.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and partners to secure favorable terms and maximize event ROI
Budget Oversight:
  • Manage event marketing budgets, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and spending aligns with strategic priorities.
  • Maximize ROI through effective resource management and cost control across all events.
  • Forecast and track budget performance, making adjustments as needed to stay within financial constraints.
Metrics & Reporting:
  • Develop and oversee KPIs to measure event success, including attendee satisfaction, ROI, and brand engagement.
  • Use data-driven insights to continuously optimize event strategies and improve performance.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to assess outcomes and identify areas for improvement
Event Escalation:
  • Address unexpected challenges during event execution, ensuring swift resolution while maintaining event integrity.
  • Implement contingency plans as necessary to manage potential risks.

  • Extensive experience in event marketing, event management, or a similar role, with a proven ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • A track record of innovation in event planning and execution, bringing new ideas that elevate the attendee experience.
  • Strong leadership skills, with demonstrated success in managing and mentoring teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple events and campaigns simultaneously.
  • Experience managing event budgets and ensuring resource allocation aligns with business priorities.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external partners.
  • Excellent problem-solving and crisis management abilities to navigate challenges during event execution.
  • Executive presence and maturity, with the ability to interact confidently with senior leaders and clients

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the targeted base salary pay range is $160,000 - 200,000 In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
