The Opportunity

Working as part of the Digital Deployment team, the Project Manager will provide project management and support to highly visible, complex, large-scale implementation projects, overseeing the design, development, and maintenance of comprehensive project plans. The role involves navigating rapidly changing environments, proactively identifying and resolving risks, and ensuring effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders at all levels. Additionally, the Project Manager will document technical and clinical information accurately and support continuous improvement of project management methodologies. This position aligns with Mass General Brigham's core values and may work with the Digital Health System Operations team to support other strategic projects and initiatives as needed.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Project Management and Support
• Design, develop, and maintain project plans that align with program standards, defining deliverables, milestones, and understanding project dependencies to maintain timelines and goals.
• Create and maintain key project artifacts such as project charters, schedules, work breakdown structures, status reports, risk logs, and change management documents to ensure comprehensive documentation and support project execution.
• Monitor and control projects through planning, execution, and closure, including status reporting, risk and issue tracking, escalation, conducting lessons learned sessions, and performing process improvement analysis.
• Navigate and manage complex, rapidly changing project environments with agility and precision.
• Use sound judgment to proactively identify potential project risks and escalate and resolve issues in a timely, collaborative, and effective manner.
• Employ problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address ambiguous situations and develop effective solutions.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, from entry-level staff to executive leadership.
• Accurately document and communicate decisions, issues, and risks related to highly technical and/or clinical information.
• Prepare comprehensive meeting agendas, minutes, effective PowerPoint presentations, and trackers, ensuring timely dissemination to relevant stakeholders to support efficient project implementation.
• Provide project-specific guidance and direction to support timely and quality results.
• Foster a positive project team environment and identify opportunities to leverage program tools for team communication and documentation.
• Assist in the continuous improvement of standard project management methodology and tools.
• Support the team with analytical reports from the project management tool as needed. Provide analytical support to Manager and Director as needed.

Qualifications
Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• 5 or more years' experience in operations and/or project management, preferably within a healthcare environment, or equivalent experience
• PMP or other PM certification preferred
• Epic Implementation experience preferred
• A combination of education and experience may be substituted for requirements

• Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, essential for managing projects with no clear path forward
• High level of comfort and competency in handling complex, ambiguous situations with confidence and clarity
• Experience in capturing and documenting technical and clinical information effectively, even outside one's primary area of expertise
• Ability to understand and convey complex technical and clinical concepts to diverse audiences
• Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills
• Ability to prioritize work requirements and assignments in relation to project execution
• Understanding of the program environment and competing priorities in conjunction with program goals
• Ability to provide direction to team members, other staff, and consultants as needed
• Experience working within a complex, multi-site, and multi-team environment
• Ability to handle stressful and ambiguous situations in a calm and professional manner
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with cross-functional teams, including staff at all organizational levels
• Ability to build consensus through negotiation and diplomacy
• Strong meeting coordination, facilitation, and documentation skills
• Ability to successfully negotiate and collaborate with individuals of different skill sets, backgrounds, and levels within and external to the organization
• Ability to effectively conduct both formal and informal meetings
• Requires minimal direction from leadership and demonstrates the ability to learn quickly

Working Conditions

• Possible local travel to Mass General Brigham sites
• The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Normal office working conditions. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate.

• Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by effectively using Mass General Brigham resources

Hybrid Working Model

  • Eastern Business hours required and some onsite requirement for deployment projects
  • Hybrid role that requires Full Time M-F Eastern Business Hours. Up to 4x a month onsite at Assembly Row as planned.
  • Onsite days will be planned in Somerville and Boston sites
  • Requires Planned travel to other MGB sites and local hospitals planned ahead.
  • Remote days require a quiet, stable and secure work station.
