Location 541 Main Street South Weymouth

Hours 36 Hours - Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays 7:00 am to 7:30 pm ***No Weekends*** Benefit eligible!

Staff will be required to float among radiology clinics associated with BWH as needed. These sites are, but not limited to: 75 Francis Street Boston MA., 850 Boylston Street Chestnut Hill Ma, 20 Patriot Place Foxborough, Ma. and 711 West Center Street West Bridgewater, MA

Duties

  • Operate CT equipment to acquire diagnostic images and information in accordance with departmental protocol. Ensure the patient is accurately prepared, positioned, immobilized, and uses protective shielding as necessary. Select accurate imaging factors and image the designated portion(s) of the body.
  • Explain the exam to the patient, taking into consideration their physical and emotional needs, while maintaining ethical standards such as patient confidentiality and professional conduct. Deliver patient care within the scope of your license and training.
  • Maintain effective working relations and communication with departmental and other hospital personnel, including professional and nursing staff.
  • Calibrate and verify the operation of all equipment used during the workday. Notify appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions and necessary repairs.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and Radiology Information System functions for each patient exam, including scheduling, conducting exams, and transferring images to PACS.
  • Perform venipuncture for the purpose of contrast administration under the direction of a radiologist. Follow all hospital and departmental contrast administration policies and procedures.
  • Attend staff meetings and in-services, and maintain appropriate CEUs in accordance with Massachusetts State Licensure and A.R.R.T. (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) requirements.


Qualifications
Qualifications
  • Must be a graduate of an approved school of Radiologic technology; possess a current Massachusetts State Radiologic Technologist license and be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
  • Be Registered or eligible for certification in CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or equivalent is required. Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARRT or equivalent CT certification and registration within one year of start of employment.
  • 2-3 years experience as a Radiologic technologist preferred with at least one year in cross-sectional anatomy courses.
  • Must be BLS ( Basic Life Support )certified.
