Job Summary

The Credit Analyst plays a crucial role in assessing creditworthiness by reviewing financial statements, credit reports, economic data, and customer-supplied information. This position involves ongoing analysis of financial statements and providing recommendations to mitigate credit risks. The analyst ensures that credit approval documentation aligns with company policies and regulations. Additionally, they recommend and develop strategies to manage high-risk accounts for internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the creditworthiness of domestic and international clients by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data.

  • Analyze account portfolios regularly to identify and mitigate risks, providing management with pertinent reports.
  • Use credit reports, references, financial statements, and online data to establish credit limits.
  • Approve credit lines up to $100,000.
  • Work closely with Sales to ensure that credit policies are adhered to.
  • Communicate directly to the Sales team the final credit approval standings and additional credit requirements for new and existing customers.
  • Compile and present the findings of a credit investigation to the executive management team for approval of extended payment term requests from the Sales team.
  • Compile and maintain electronic documentation and analyses related to a customer credit file i.e. credit application, credit report and credit references.


Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field required.
  • Strong financial analysis skills, including the ability to interpret balance sheets and income statements and provide recommendations based on liquidity and indebtedness.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a credit environment.
  • Ability to identify industry drivers and trends related to evaluating a business's creditworthiness.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Oracle ERP, MS Office (Excel), and internet research.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and interact positively with internal and external stakeholders.
