Job Description

Job Summary: Eurofins BPT-Columbiais looking for aContinuous Improvement Specialistto join our team located in Columbia, Missouri. The Continuous Improvement Specialist supports the development and implementation of Continuous Improvement/LEAN practices within site operations and functional support groups. Key goals of the position include improving operational efficiency, reducing operational waste and promoting continuous improvement culture.

Job duties include:

  • Assist with the development of CI/LEAN deployment strategy.
  • Implement fundamental CI/LEAN tools and processes (e.g., 5S, Standardized Work, Visual Management, Value Stream Mapping, Rapid Problem Solving, Process Design for Flow, Built in Quality, Kaizen Events, Audit Systems, etc.).
  • Provide hands-on training and coaching in CI/LEAN tools and concepts.
  • Collaborate with operations staff to identify, prioritize and implement CI/LEAN projects.
  • Collaborate with operations staff in creating standardized processes and systems.
  • Assist with the development and management of CI/LEAN performance metrics.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of experience implementing Continuous Improvement/LEAN practices or LEAN/Six Sigma Certification with 3 years of experience implementing Continuous Improvement/LEAN practices.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

  • Ability to promote and execute CI/LEAN methodologies.
  • Excellent presentation, coaching and communication skills.
  • Likes being close to operations and interacting with staff.
  • Self-directed and able to execute job functions with limited supervision.
  • Well organized, high energy, results oriented.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Good conceptual/process skills.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Working knowledge of basic laboratory statistics is preferred.
  • Strong ability to provide problem solving and critical thinking. Must be able to solve problems and present solutions. Able to deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical, diagram, written, oral or schedule form.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel is required. Knowledge of Word and PowerPoint is highly desirable

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm,with overtime as needed. Candidates who live within a commutable distance of Columbia, MO are encouraged to apply.
