This position is onsite at the Corporate Headquarters located in Kenosha, WI.

Develop tooling requirements for both existing and new products to be machined on CNC equipment. Provide manufacturing support by loading, debugging, and proving all new CNC programs. Ability to set-up and operate CNC machines in both test and production environments. Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing problems associated with CNC machining, including fixture, tooling, programming and maintenance related problems. Provide programs, tool layouts, print interpretation, and tool sheets in support of manufacturing. Develop tooling improvements by working with vendors, operators and supervisors. Support the creation and maintenance of CNC programs for multi axis mills and dual speed lathes with live tooling.

Responsibilities

• Develop tooling requirements for new or existing product to be machined on CNC equipment.
• Determine appropriate tooling speeds and feeds based on the raw materials being used ensuring machine cycle times and tooling is optimized
• Set-up and operate Mazak CNC machines in both test and production environments
• Provide part approvals and manufacturing support.
• Troubleshoot tooling and program related problems.
• Generate and maintain information in Excel or Word based off of CNC programs.
• Control the handling of CNC programs from the server to CNC machines.
• Monitor, document and control any changes made to CNC programs.
• Have general design concepts of fixture or work holding components.
• Support the creation and maintenance of (Mastercam) programs for multi axis mills and dual speed lathes with live tooling through interpretation of engineering blueprints.
• Perform basic daily maintenance on machinery as required.
• Provides back-up and assistance to others in the manufacturing department.
• Monitoring machinery and equipment and inspecting in-process and finished products to ensure quality specifications and production demands are met.
• Responsible for safety in own work area and participate in creating a safe workplace.
• Hands on experience with quality inspection metrology using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, dial indicators, etc. as well as visual quality assurance.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent
• Associate degree in CNC programming or minimum 3-5 years equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of blueprint interpretation including geometric tolerancing.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and machining practices.
• Good planning and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of design and gauging practices.
• Knowledge of various type of machining centers as well as post (secondary) processes
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools.
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel.
• Demonstrates aptitude towards technical understanding and growth.
• Effective communication skills (written and oral as well as the ability to interact with coworkers and other associates).
• Ability to comprehend oral and written instructions and execute those instructions accurately and timely.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement processes and ability to communicate improvement ideas to managers is a plus.
• Must be dependable and willing to adjust schedule and workload per business demands.
• Must be able to work independently and in a team-oriented setting.
• Experience in fabrication or welding is a plus
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and adjust in a fast-paced work environment and make timely decisions in a manufacturing environment.
• Willing to work overtime, including Saturdays and up to 20 hours per week as needed.
